Hello everyone, today I'll be going over my top 10 best films of 2020! This year has been very difficult due to the pandemic, however we still had quite a few great films that are worth mentioning.

Number 10 is The New Mutants. I thought this was a very good movie. The cast was excellent, the visuals were incredible, and it had a third act that was exhilarating and beautifully shot. Definitely recommend.

Number 9 is On The Rocks. This was a very unique film. Bill Murray and Rashida Jones had excellent chemistry in a film that had a much lighter tone than Sofia Coppola’s previous films and was well written and well paced.

Number 8 is Birds of Prey. Hands down, this has to be one of my favorite DCEU films behind Shazam! The actions sequences were well filmed and I loved looking at all the bright colors. Margot Robbie was brilliant as Harley Quinn and I must’ve seen this film at least 7 times. Must watch for sure.

Number 7 is Uncle Frank. I haven’t had time to review this one just yet, however I'm hoping to within the next few weeks. This was an absolutely incredible film. The scropt was impeccably written and the film as a whole was very immersive. Paul Bettany and Sophia Lillis gave career-defining performances and I'm very excited to see what Alan Ball directs next.

Number 6 is Soul. Soul is a fantastic film not just from an emotional perspective, but from a beautifully animated and entertaining one as well. The vocal performances wer absolutely phenomenal and this has to be one of Pixar's best films to date. Review coming soon

Number 5 is The King of Staten Island. I did not expect to like this film at all, however it totally exceeded any expectations I had. It was funny, well performed, well written, and was able to heavily immerse me in the story. Judd Apatow did an amazing job directing and it's easily his best film.

Number 4 is Mulan. Similar to my last choice, I had very low expectations for this one due to all the changes they made. However, this film was incredible! It was exhilarating, beautifully shot, and features an amazing performance from the lead actress, highly recommend.

Number 3 is The Prom. Despite the RT score, I absolutely loved this film. The musical numbers were well executed, it was very entertaining, and was filled to the brim with oscar worthy performances from the whole cast.

Number 2 is Promising Young Woman. This was my most highly anticipated film of 2020, and it did not disappoint. Carey Mulligan gave a career best performance in this well written, well directed, beautifully shot film that had a very timely message about rape culture and today's society.

Before I reveal my Number 1 pick, let's take a look at some Honorable Mentions!

An American Pickle: A well paced and funny film with a great performance from Seth Rogen.

The Hunt: A film filled with incredible action sequences and a starmaking performance from Betty Gilpin.

Sonic the Hedgehog: A fun and entertaining film with excellent CGI and a likeable cast

Onward: A beautifully animated and touching film with great vocal performances.

My Number 1 best film of 2020 is......The Invisible Man. This film is MARVELOUS. The production values are top notch, Elisabeth Moss gave the best performance of her career and had a score and ending that made my mouth drop as I left the theater. This is definitely a must watch film and is easily the best film of the year.
